Patric Halforty got us off to great start with a clear points win over Abdulla Smew from Donegal who was never able to handle the accuracy of Patric though he did push him hard for the whole contest.

Kelly Copeland remained unbeaten and on track for a title fight in May with a clear points win over Valerie Hamilton. Valerie tried hard throughout but the greater work rate and accuracy of Kelly see her take a clear point’s decision. This was Kelly’s 3^rd fight against Irish opposition so far in a career that has also seen her take the title of IKF World Classic Champion 2011

Garthy Shove was unsuccessful in his challenge for the IKF European super-lightweight title but came away with a draw, an excellent result against a top class fighter Eric Daly and in Eric’s hometown as well.   This was a fantastic achievement and I’m sure we will be trying to secure a second crack at Eric some time soon.

To say the event went well would be an understatement with us taking two titles on the day. George winning the Cadet under 60 kilos title with 3 wins in one day and most opinion amongst the other European coaches was that he was the fighter of the day.

Tyler took 1^st place in the Junior under 55 kilos and he dominated his two opponents in his best performance so far.

Kamil and Gee both lost in the first round by close points decision but both performed very well and both had very experienced opponents in front of them

So, just 3 TKO fighters there and 2 new Champions crowned, an excellent result and one that sets us up nicely for the next KOMBAT ZONE event on 26^th Feb where all 3 TKO fighters will be competing.

First of all I must apologise for the recent lack of updates to the website, it’s been a particularly busy time and with so much going on it’s been hard to get the time.

So, with that said being said here is a quick update on recent and future events and news to get us all back up to date

On October 16^th we had the 3^rd Battle of Kent event of the year and once again we welcomed over 200 kickboxers from all over the country to the Lordswood Leisure Centre with over 50 members of the TKO Academy taking part and although many taking part were very inexperienced we were very pleased with the success of the team scoring a win ratio of over 70%, so a good day was had by all.

During October we announced the line up for the next KOMBAT ZONE event entitled ‘Collision’ and set for 27^th November and once again to be held at the Casino Rooms in Rochester.  We have a full TKO line up set to appear in both Kickboxing and White Collar Boxing contests. Garthy Shove will be taking part in the first defence of his recently acquired English light-welterweight title when he meets the unbeaten Sami Salem from Swindon and amongst our full bill will be a special International K1 clash between Karim Benaibouce from France and Yanis Lyashenko from the Ukraine. This should be a great fight and we are pleased to be able to bring this to the show.

Just yesterday we had the last grading of the year and this one featured our annual Black Belt grading. Congratulations go to our new 1^st Dan Black Belts George Hennon, Myra Blair, Paula Stone, Stephen Collins and Frank Hennon who gained his second Dan. Well done everyone

This coming Friday 18^th November we will be having the 2011 TKO Presentation night at the Grangemoor Hotel in Maidstone and we look forward to seeing members from all 3 TKO Academies and presentations will be made to the TKO Students of the year, the TKO fighter of the year and to all our new TKO Kickboxing Black Belts.

The event once again will be held at the Grangemoor Hotel in Maidstone on Friday 18th November and as always will include awards for the TKO Students of the year, the new TKO Kickboxing Black Belts successful at this years grading and to the TKO Fighter of the Year. As well of course much drinking, dancing and eating! (Thou not of course those members of the TKO Fight team who will be competing the following week who will have to do with diet Coke)

This event which starts at 7pm is open to all TKO members, their family and friends and tickets are priced at just £20
